Location: the hotel was not far from taxi to cathedral, the restaurant, and Matera. Dined at Osteria al Casale, it was just a pleasant stroll away from the venue. Enjoyed our rooms with a balcony.
Could not be improved in any way.

Located on the hills, the hotel offers stunning views of the old town and cave dwellings. The spacious rooms are beautifully decorated and some even feature private terraces with sun loungers. The large bathrooms are equipped with modern amenities. The staff is professional, welcoming, and goes above and beyond to make guests feel special. The delicious breakfast spread includes a variety of options and the afternoon snacks are a nice touch. The hotel also offers larger common rooms for guests to gather and socialize.
One downside is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, which can be uncomfortable during hot summer days.

This room at Maison d'Ax had a private entrance, making it feel like a cozy little hideaway. I absolutely loved the bathrobe provided in the room, it made me feel like a pampered guest. The city view from some of the units was breathtaking, it added a touch of romance to my stay. The balcony with a garden view in certain rooms was a lovely place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. I appreciated the air conditioning in the double room, especially during hot summer days. The fireplace in the room created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Having a kitchenette was so convenient, it allowed me to prepare my own meals whenever I wanted.
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the minibar in the double room, but I understand that others might enjoy it.
